Zero Gravity

It was a busy day of walking ... Walk on the beach and a walk in space!

I walked barefoot on the beach and enjoyed the early morning peace and quiet along the Ocean ...with the only sounds being the music created by the crashing waves as the tide came in and the squawking and singing of my fair feathered friends.

My walking distance has increased each day ... Today was almost 6 kms...after my walk I returned to my temporary home away from home for breakfast and shower.

While I was walking Msr. Honey had planned an outing ... A drive north along the coast to Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center.

Msr. Honey had been here before but I had never visited this area!

The complex area is large and includes rockets and satellites that went to the moon and a complete space shuttle with booster rockets.

We toured the complex and I experienced my first "3D" viewing at the IMAX Theater...it was the Space Station 3D show.
Absolutely phenomenal...it was like walking in space or on the moon.
Here we joined the Space Station Astronauts as they lived, worked and adapted to months of weightlessness.

We also toured the Space Shuttle Atlantis complex...amazing!

Another wonderful day ... on the Space Coast!

The Whispering Waves

The whispering waves of the Ocean can lull you to sleep at night and provide cool breezes as you walk along the beach.

My first walk on the beach was barefoot...and what a treat after the heavily dressed walking I was doing back home in Canada.

And with no shoes to worry about I could walk in the Ocean also!

I think I may be a fair weather walker!

I certainly do enjoy the less is more approach as far as attire and gear are concerned.

I have been trying to walk as early as possible in the day before the heat makes me lazy!

One day I walked the main street A1A down to the beach access near the Ron Jon Surf Shop and then back along the water ...not in my bare feet, I had to wear my "Go Walk Baby" shoes and they actually were good on the sand.

I hope to walk everyday while we are here!

What do you think, don't you want to walk along the Ocean too?

Life is a Beach!

Upon leaving Pompano Beach in the south near Ft. Lauderdale, we travelled north along the Florida coastline.

Our first stop was the Vero Beach/ Sebastian area where we visited with some friends who are true snowbirds spending many of the winter months in the south.

Weather the first day in Sebastian was great, the next two days we were baptized with the near constant rain which forced us to go shopping! Oh me, oh my!  No beach time in Sebastian this trip!

Now we are in Cocoa Beach, we booked a last minute option on the internet which turned out to be a wonderful pick for our last week in the sunshine.

The International Palms Resort is a beach / ocean side motel resort, with two pools, one heated and the other for the kids with a pirate ship and slides in the middle, a beach side restaurant/ bar and a pool bar, plus another restaurant that serves breakfast.

Great choice Msr. Honey...our room overlooks the ocean and there is a walkway that leads us directly to the sandy beach and the vast spanse of the Atlantic Ocean.

Oh yes, I can't forget the hammocks perfect for afternoon siestas.

Our balcony provides panaromic views of the sunrise...if we are awake and up at 7:20AM to see it!

There are photos in the post from all the places we visited along the eastern Atlantic Coast of Florida!

Hope you enjoy and find some respite if you are in one the areas in the world that are experiencing this year's harsh winter!
